DIY Hair Masks for Dry and Frizzy Hair

If looking for nutrient-packed food for the hair then hair masks make for a great addition in your hair care routine. Just like our body requires a balanced meal to ensure that all nutrients make our body strong and healthy, similarly to prevent hair care woes like dryness and frizz, specialized care must be undertaken. Here is a guide to hair masks with kitchen ingredients that are easy to make and ensure good results in the long run.

Banana Mask for Dry Hair:

If you want to turn your rough hair to smooth, you need to use this hair mask at least once a week. Take an over-ripe banana, mash it, add 1 tablespoon of sour yoghurt and ½ tablespoon of honey, and mix until well blended. Apply on the scalp and length of hair from root to tip. Leave it on for 15-20 mins, rinse off and use a sulphate-free and paraben-free Banana Shampoo to wash hair after.

Amla and Shikakai for Dry Scalp Treatment:

Soak 2 tablespoons of Amla and 1 tablespoon of Shikakai in an iron vessel with 1 ½ tablespoon of Yoghurt and ½ tablespoon of Neem Oil. Blend them together and prepare a smooth paste. Apply it on the scalp from root to tip and leave them on for 30 mins. Rinse off with a gentle shampoo like Khadi Essentials Sandalwood shampoo.

Hibiscus Mask for Flaky Scalp:

Soak 1 tablespoon of Khus seeds (poppy) overnight in rose water and blend with 3-5 hibiscus leaves until a smooth paste. Apply the mask to your scalp and hair. This cooling and soothing mixture, rich in natural keratin, makes hair shiny and lustrous. Leave for 30 mins and then rinse off with Khadi Essentials Coconut Milk Shampoo for best results.

Methi Mask for Frizzy Hair Treatment:

Soak 2-3 tablespoons of Methi seeds overnight. Add Aloe Vera gel to it and blend them well to prepare a semi-thick paste. Apply this mixture from root to tip and leave on the scalp for about 30 mins. Then, wash it off with water. Alternatively, you can use Khadi Essentials Fenugreek Hair Mask to make your hair strong and frizz-free and reduces dandruff.
